“I think there are a lot of reasons that contributed to my decision to continue on and take my spot that I got at Torian and go to the Games this year. It wasn’t the intention, but I think if I never did it, I would definitely regret it.
When I was at Torian, I just had such an incredible time competing… I think it’s only fitting to see through the season and go to the CrossFit Games.”
When it comes to the preparation process this year, it has been a turbulent process for Tia-Clair Toomey. She has been training for Hyrox, which encompassed a lot of running and endurance training, while also partially neglecting the strength aspect. However, Tia-Clair knows what she needs to do in order to bring the complete package to the Games.
Tia-Clair Toomey had plans of competing at the 2025 Hyrox World Championships. However, she got sick in the days leading up to the competition and had to drop out from the competition. Luckily, she has over a month to prepare for the CrossFit Games.
“This year, even though my training has been a little bit different in terms of focusing on Hyrox as opposed to CrossFit, I’m still able to do CrossFit the way I want to.
Right now, we’re really focusing on strength, since that hasn’t really been a priority throughout the season, and by the time I get to the CrossFit Games, I’ll be ready for whatever test or challenge the team throws at us.”
Lastly, it seemed like Tia-Clair Toomey was hinting toward a possible retirement after the 2025 CrossFit Games. The ways in which she expressed herself involved a lot of talk about her legacy and wanting to make this year’s CrossFit Games the best one yet. However, it remains to be seen what her decision will be.
“I think it will be really cool to walk off the floor embracing my family and really proud of my efforts and the legacy that I strive to leave behind…
All I can guarantee is the work that I put in from now until the CrossFit Games and set myself up for the best preparation and the best CrossFit Games that I’ve ever had.”
