NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State football has received its kickoff time for the team’s showdown against FBS opponent Rutgers, revealed by the Big 10 Conference on Thursday afternoon.
NSU and Rutgers will meet at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Sep. 13, marking the first road test of the season for the Spartans. The game will air nationally on Big Ten Network.
The announcement signifies the second revealed gametime of the Spartans’ 2025 schedule. Norfolk State will travel to Hampton for the Battle of the Bay, taking place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The 2025 campaign will mark the first season of head football coach Michael Vick’s tenure at Norfolk State, collecting historic attention and anticipation from the entire Hampton Roads community. The Spartans will open the season at home on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Towson.
Norfolk State and Rutgers have met four times, dating back to the 2007 campaign. The Spartans and Scarlet Knights last squared off in 2015, just over 10 years prior to the scheduled 2025 matchup.
Kickoff times and television designations for the Spartans’ remaining 10 games will be announced at a later date.
