NORFOLK, Va., November 5, 2024 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has proudly partnered with Wells Fargo for the 2024 Beyond College Webinar Series that kicked off in January of this year.
The Beyond College Webinar Series is designed to help students prepare for life after college. The webinar series covers a broad range of topics, from personal finance to professional development, internships and more.
“The MEAC could not be more thankful to Wells Fargo for selecting us as their partner for the Beyond College Webinar Series this year,” said Commissioner Stills. “While competition is central to our mission, educating our student-athletes—both past and present—remains our highest priority. Supporting the growth and development of our conference community will always be at the heart of what we do.”
The webinar series is emceed by MEAC’s strategic advisor Lynn Thompson with collaboration from Dewey Norwood, Senior Lead Diversity and Inclusion Consultant and HBCU Strategy Lead for Wells Fargo.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Commissioner Stills and the MEAC team for this impactful educational experience for college students,” said Norwood. “Presenters from our bank as well as special guests have done yeomans work in sharing their expertise and information for each featured topic from how to pay for college to securing mentors, sponsors and growing your personal brand.

Wells Fargo’s support of the MEAC has been evident through various initiatives, starting with a generous $100,000 donation to the MEAC Foundation last year. This contribution ensures that the conference’s member institutions, student-athletes, and coaches have the resources required to compete at a Division I level, fostering an exceptional student-athlete experience.
The bank played a vital role in the MEAC’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee workshop and made its presence felt throughout the football season, including being named the presenting sponsor of 2023 MEAC Football Media Day. Wells Fargo was named the 2024 Corporate Partner of the Year. Overall, since 2012, the bank has provided more than $40 million to HBCUs and organizations that support them.
